Appliance Repair in Hudson, Ohio
Hudson is one of the longer drives from our Parma base, about 28 miles and 40-some minutes. It's a trip we're glad to make. Call before lunch and a visit later that day is still on the table.
One discount per visit. Mention it when you book.
Hudson is really two towns that voted to become one in 1994, when the old village and Hudson Township merged. You can still feel it. Around the green and the 1912 clock tower there are houses inside a historic district that's been on the National Register since 1973. Drive out a few miles and you're in roomy subdivisions from the eighties and nineties, which is where the census median of 1983 comes from.
Nearly nine homes in ten are owner-occupied, so you're probably the one deciding and paying. Fine by us. Our technician tracks down the fault and quotes a single amount. Nothing gets unbolted until you've said yes.
Hudson 44236 and the cities on its edges
- 44236Hudson, OH

Hudson covers almost 26 square miles, which is big for a suburb. All of it is 44236. Macedonia sits across the north line. Stow lies directly south and Cuyahoga Falls to the west. Over on the east side you'll find Aurora and Streetsboro. The Turnpike cuts straight through the middle of town, which is handy for us coming down from Parma.
Just so there's no confusion, this page is about Hudson in Summit County, Ohio. Plenty of other states have a Hudson of their own, and search results love to mix them up. If a site promises same-day service in Hudson, it's worth checking which one it means.
Old houses near the green
In the historic part of town, kitchens were fitted into rooms that were never meant for a 36-inch fridge or a dishwasher. Things get tucked into odd corners. Ventilation suffers, and a fridge hemmed in by trim and cabinetry runs hot. Laundry tends to live in an old basement with a long dryer run.
Still, an awkward old room is no reason to rip out a working appliance. Our technician simply spends a few minutes on the house around the machine before pointing a finger at the machine itself.
Old houses also hide old shutoff valves. Before we disconnect a washer or a fridge line we test the valve gently. A seized valve that breaks turns a simple appliance call into a plumbing job.
Subdivision homes from the 80s and 90s
Out in the newer neighborhoods the issues are different. The builder appliances that came with these houses are long gone. Their replacements have now put in ten or fifteen years, about when pumps and control boards start acting up. Laundry is often on the main floor, so a leaking hose matters more.
Big kitchens with double ovens or built-in fridges also show up here. See our double oven repair and Sub-Zero pages.
Power blips and electronic controls
Hudson runs its own electric utility, Hudson Public Power. Outages happen everywhere, and on Labor Day 2025 more than 1,200 Hudson customers lost power at once, as Cleveland19 reported. A modern washer is basically a computer with a motor attached, so it pays to treat it a bit like one when the lights flicker.
- Keep the doors shutA fridge you leave shut will hold its cold for hours, longer than most people expect. Our guide on food safety after a power outage covers what to keep and what to toss.
- Unplug what you canIf the power is blinking on and off, pull the plug on the washer and the microwave until it settles. Their boards hate those little surges.
- Reset before you callOnce power is steady again, some machines want a hard reset. Kill the breaker, count to sixty, and switch it back. If the display stays dark or shows a code, call us.
More tips are in appliances and power outages.
City water, softened at the plant
Hudson's own water comes from five wells, and the city plant sends most of it through softeners before it reaches the pipes. That system has roughly 3,500 customers, though. Most of the rest of Hudson is on Akron or Cleveland water. Stow supplies part of town as well, so two neighbors on the same road can have different water.
On city water
Softened well water is easy on valves and heating elements. Keep rinse aid in the dishwasher and rinse its filter now and then, and spots stay rare.
On another supply
Your bill names the supplier, and the supplier can give you a hardness figure. The harder it is, the more often a dishwasher or a washer will need descaling.
Read hard water and your appliances for what scale does to heating elements and valves.
Is Hudson too far for a Parma company?
No. It's about 28 miles, roughly 42 minutes without traffic. Hudson is well within our 50-mile service area.
Is this Hudson, Ohio?
Yes, Hudson in Summit County, ZIP 44236. We don't serve the Hudsons in other states.
Can you repair appliances in a historic house?
Yes. We work around old cabinetry and trim, and we protect floors when an appliance has to be pulled out.
My appliance stopped working after a power outage. What should I do?
Try a reset at the breaker first. If the display stays dark or shows an error, call us. Power surges can damage control boards.
Is Hudson water hard?
It depends on who supplies your house. The city's own well water is softened at the plant before it goes out. Homes on Akron or Cleveland water get that utility's supply instead. The same goes for the part of town Stow serves, and your bill shows which one you have.
Do you fix premium built-in appliances in Hudson?
Yes. Sub-Zero columns and other built-ins are on our list, and so are double wall ovens.
What discounts do you offer?
A veteran or senior saves $30 on the bill. New customers save $20 instead, because discounts don't combine.
Do you come to the historic district near the green?
Yes, and to every subdivision out toward the Hudson edges. Tell us if parking is tight on your street, and we'll plan around it.
