Appliance Repair in Chagrin Falls
Chagrin Falls is about 37 minutes from our Parma base, one of the longer drives on our east side list, so calling early in the day really pays off here.
One discount per visit. Mention it when you book.
The village was laid out back in 1837 around the falls on the Chagrin River, and it's still small, just over two square miles. A lot of the houses have some age on them. By Census data half the homes in the village were built in 1952 or earlier, and that shows up in the kitchens and the basements.
Because the drive is a bit longer, it helps a lot if you can tell us the brand and what the machine is doing when you call. A photo of the model tag is even better, since then the van shows up with the parts that model usually needs. Our technician will figure out what's wrong and give you the full price before starting, parts and labor in one number. Old house or new appliance, the order is the same. If a repair isn't worth it on a machine that's near the end, we'd rather say so than sell you a part.
Village water comes from two places
Chagrin Falls doesn't run on just one water source, which surprises some people. According to the village utilities department part of it is Cleveland water pulled from Lake Erie and part comes from the village's own Franklin Street Well Field, which is groundwater. Well water and lake water don't always carry the same minerals, so honestly we won't pretend to know your exact hardness. The village puts out a yearly water quality report, and that's where the real number lives.
On a dishwasher or washer call we keep an eye out for scale either way. Crusty white spray arms are one giveaway. Glasses with a film you can't wipe off are another, and so is a washer that takes ages to fill because the inlet screens are gritty. Clean that stuff out first and then you can actually tell if a part has died.
Cloudy glasses? Before you call anybody, put rinse aid in the dispenser and run one empty hot cycle with a cup of white vinegar sitting on the top rack.

Repairs in houses from the forties and fifties
Older houses near downtown and along the river have a few habits that matter once the technician is standing in your kitchen.
Outlets and old circuits
Plug a dryer or a range into a tired old outlet and you can end up with a scorched plug that keeps frying new parts. So we look at what it's plugged into before we point at the appliance.
Narrow kitchen openings
Kitchens back then were framed for smaller fridges. Put a new full-size one in that space and it runs hot and long, and sometimes the whole fix is just giving the coils room to breathe.
Laundry down the stairs
Ever tried carrying a washer up steep basement steps? It's miserable. That alone tips a lot of people toward fixing a pump or a lid lock instead of buying new.
Our article on appliances in older homes gets into this a lot more.
The village ZIP and the mailing address puzzle
- 44022Chagrin Falls village
- 37 minfrom Parma, light traffic
The village itself is 44022. Plenty of people with a Chagrin Falls mailing address actually live in the townships around it, some of them over the line in Geauga County. That's fine with us. We cover roughly fifty miles around Parma, so just give us the street and we'll tell you right away if you're in range.
Solon and Pepper Pike are the nearest towns on our list, and Novelty and Chesterland are a bit farther out to the northeast.
Worth checking before you book
Since it's a longer drive for us, spend two minutes on these first. Every so often one of them saves you the visit completely.
- Breaker and plugA tripped breaker looks just like a dead appliance. Flip it all the way off and then back on, once.
- FiltersMost newer dishwashers have a filter you twist out from under the lower spray arm. Front-load washers usually hide one down low behind a small door, and both get gunked up faster than you'd guess.
- Valves and hosesWhen a washer fills painfully slow, make sure both valves behind it are turned fully on. Then look for a hose pinched against the wall.
- The model tagTake a picture of it. With the exact model in hand we can load the van with whatever that machine usually eats.
Our pre-call checklist goes a little further. Tried it all and still stuck? Give us a call and we'll pick a time.
Chagrin Falls questions
About water, older houses and those tricky mailing addresses.
(216) 352-3935Do you come out as far as Chagrin Falls?
Yes. It's about 37 minutes from Parma with light traffic, well inside the roughly fifty miles we cover. Weekday requests that arrive early can often be handled that same day.
My address says Chagrin Falls but I live outside the village. Do you still come?
Most likely. A lot of Chagrin Falls addresses are in the townships around the village. Give us the street and we'll confirm it on the phone.
Is the water in Chagrin Falls hard?
The village mixes Cleveland water with groundwater from its own well field, so the hardness isn't the same as Cleveland's. Check the village water quality report for the number. Scale in dishwashers and washers is worth watching either way.
Is it worth fixing an appliance in an older Chagrin Falls house?
Often it is, especially when getting a new washer down narrow basement stairs is half the battle. If the repair cost runs close to a replacement, the technician will tell you before any work.
Do you repair gas ranges in Chagrin Falls?
Yes. We replace igniters and burner valves on gas and dual-fuel ranges, and oven sensors too, higher-end brands included.
Are there discounts for Chagrin Falls customers?
The same as everywhere we work. Veterans and seniors save $30 and first-time customers save $20. Only one discount applies per visit.
Add your street and tell us what the appliance is doing. A picture of the sticker with the model number saves a lot of guessing.
We will call you shortly to confirm a time for your repair.
