Commercial Oven Repair and Range Service for Restaurant Kitchens

An oven that drifts off temperature or a burner that keeps dying slows the whole line. Call before prep and we try to come the same day.

Commercial convection oven in a restaurant kitchen

Commercial oven repair calls usually start with a cook saying the heat isn't where it should be. Maybe the convection oven is browning the back of every sheet pan and leaving the front pale. Or the range burners catch and then fade out a few seconds later.

We work on convection ovens and commercial ranges for restaurants and cafes around Parma and Cleveland, griddle tops included. First the technician checks ignition and temperature control. Then you get one full price, and you decide.

Oven cavity and range top

Before you pick up the phone, watch the flame and the clock. Nearly every cooking equipment problem shows up as a flame that looks wrong or food that takes longer than it used to.

Inside the oven

Convection fan motor

If the fan motor is seizing up or a blade worked loose, you get hot spots and cold spots. You'll notice it when the back trays burn and the front ones barely color.

Thermostat out of calibration

You set 350, the oven gives you 320. Set a cheap oven thermometer in the center of the rack and in fifteen minutes you'll know how far off it is.

Pilot or igniter

On a gas oven, a weak pilot or a tired hot surface igniter means the burner doesn't catch. Or it catches late with a loud puff, which nobody on the line enjoys.

On the range top

Burners that won’t stay lit

That's often the thermocouple. When it stops sensing the pilot, it shuts the gas off on purpose. Grease packed in the ports is the other usual suspect, and you'll see it as a lazy yellow flame.

Griddle running hot or cold

Griddles with a thermostat drift as they age. One end scorching pancakes while the other barely browns them? A control or a burner is out of balance.

Grease and heat wear parts out faster

A restaurant range might run for hours with every burner wide open. Each pan that splatters puts a little more grease into the ports and around the valves. The oven doors get slammed all night too. Hinges loosen, and a gasket that doesn't seal anymore just pushes heat out at the cooks.

None of that means you need new equipment. Usually it's a worn part swapped out and the flame adjusted. A door that drops open or won't latch is worth fixing fast, because cooks start cranking the dial higher to make up for it.

Wipe the knobs and the panel around the valves after the last service of the day. Grease building up there is what makes knobs stiff and pilots unreliable.

If you smell gas near the line

Turn off the shutoff valve for the cooking line first. It's usually a yellow handle on the pipe behind the equipment. Then open the doors, and don't flip light switches or start anything up until the smell is gone.

Call the gas company before you call us. A gas smell is their job first. Once they've cleared the building, we come and repair whatever caused it.

A pilot that keeps going out can be the source of that smell. That's one more reason to have the range looked at after the utility leaves, even if everything lights again.

Ovens we repair

Full size and half size convection ovens are the ones we see most. Conveyor pizza ovens are on the list too, where the belt motor or the burner control is usually behind the trouble. We also fix the standard oven under a six-burner range top.

Trouble on the cold side too? Read commercial refrigerator repair. The dish station has its own page on commercial dishwasher repair.

Book it before the rush

Technicians start at 7 am, which leaves a window before lunch prep begins. They stay out until 11 pm on weekdays and Sundays. A visit after the last ticket works as well. Saturday is their day off, yet requests still come in.

Other equipment we repair for businesses sits on commercial appliance repair. A stove at home goes to our household range repair page.

Where can I get commercial oven repair near me?

We cover restaurants up to roughly 50 miles from Parma. Cleveland and Akron are inside that circle, along with Medina and Elyria.

Why won’t my commercial oven heat up?

On gas ovens, start with the pilot and the igniter. If the flame never lights, the gas valve or a safety device is stopping it. Electric models usually point to a burned element or a failed thermostat.

Do you repair commercial ranges and stoves?

Yes. We fix gas burners that won't light or stay lit, and griddles that heat unevenly. The oven under the range top is part of the same visit.

Do you repair electric commercial ovens too?

Yes. On electric convection ovens a burned element is the usual fault. A failed contactor comes next, and it can make the oven heat on one setting but not another.

Why does my convection oven bake unevenly?

Suspect the fan first. A slow motor or a bent blade leaves dead spots. Check that the pans aren't blocking airflow, then call if one side still comes out darker.

Why do my range burners keep going out?

Usually a thermocouple or a dirty pilot. When the pilot flame can't heat the thermocouple, the valve shuts the gas off for safety. Cleaning sometimes fixes it, and otherwise the part is replaced.

What does a yellow flame on a commercial burner mean?

The gas isn't burning cleanly. Grease or debris in the ports is the usual reason, and an air shutter out of adjustment is the other. It leaves soot on the pans too. Clean the burner, and if the flame stays yellow, have it adjusted.

Why is my oven door leaking heat?

A worn gasket or a loose hinge. Shut the door on a strip of paper and pull. If it slides out with no drag, the seal at that spot is gone.

Can you fix a conveyor pizza oven when the belt stops?

Usually. A belt that won't move points to the drive motor or its speed control. Check for a jam at the sprocket with the oven cold and the power off before you call.

Can you fix a commercial oven on a Sunday?

Sunday is a regular workday for us, 7 am to 11 pm. Saturday is the only day our technicians are off, and you can still leave a request that day.

Is it worth repairing an old commercial oven?

Most of the time. Igniters and thermostats cost little next to a new oven, and so do fan motors and door gaskets. Our price comes before any work, and a 90-day warranty follows it.
