Bedford Heights Appliance Repair
A technician from our Parma base needs a little under half an hour to reach Bedford Heights on a clear road. If you get your request in on a weekday morning, there is a real chance of a visit that same day.
One discount per visit. Mention it when you book.
About 56 percent of homes in Bedford Heights are rented, according to the Census, way more than in most of the suburbs around it. So when a washer dies here, odds are the person staring at the puddle didn't buy that washer and isn't the one who'll pay to fix it either.
We work for whoever books us, whether that's a tenant or an owner or a property manager. Both sides stay in the loop. Our technician finds the cause and quotes the whole job up front. Then whoever is paying says yes or no before anything gets unscrewed.
Your appliance broke and you rent
None of this is complicated, but doing it in roughly this order keeps you from playing phone tag with your landlord for three days.
- Tell your landlord the same dayMost leases want problems reported right away anyway. Snap a photo of the error on the screen or the water on the floor and text it over, that's usually plenty to get things moving.
- Ask who is bookingSome owners already have a repair guy they use. Others are fine with you calling us directly. A few want to see the price before anybody touches anything, which is fair enough.
- Be home or leave accessWe call when we're on the way. If you're stuck at work, the owner or the building manager will need to sort out a key for us.
- Keep the invoiceHang on to it. It shows what part went in and the 90-day warranty, so if the same thing breaks again next month nobody has to argue about it.
Renting the unit out? Our piece on who pays for repairs in a rental has a bit on the weeks between tenants too, when a quick look saves a call later.
Error codes worth reading to us on the phone
If the display shows letters and numbers, write them down before you turn the machine off. They tell us which parts to bring and save a second trip.
The washer can't drain. Usually the pump filter behind the little door at the bottom front is packed with lint or a sock. Sometimes it's the pump itself.
Water isn't coming in fast enough. Check that both valves behind the machine are open and the hoses aren't kinked against the wall.
The door or lid won't lock. A latch knocked out of line can do it. So can a failed lock assembly, which we carry. Our F5E3 article has a reset you can try first.
There's water in the base pan under the tub, and a float switch has shut things down. Something is leaking inside, so leave it off until we look.
No code at all, or one that isn't here? Just describe what it's doing. That works fine too.
What tends to go wrong in rental units
Half the housing here dates from 1968 or later, and apartments of that age tend to have compact kitchens and laundry closets.
Stacked laundry in a closet
Little airflow around a stacked pair makes the dryer run hot. Fixing the washer underneath sometimes means lifting the dryer off, so we plan the time for it.
Fridges between tenants
A fridge that sat unplugged with the door shut can grow mold and a smell that won't quit. Door gaskets also wear out faster on a fridge that has seen several tenants.
Hard-used ranges
Coil burners with a loose terminal arc and burn the receptacle. Swapping only the burner won't fix it, since the socket has to go too.
Dishwashers nobody ran for months
A unit that sat empty between leases can come back with dried-out seals and a pump that sticks. Run a short cycle with the cabinet door open and watch the floor before you trust it again.
Our pages on washer repair and range repair go through what we test on those visits.

Bedford Heights was carved out of Bedford back in 1951 and never got a ZIP code of its own, so both cities still share 44146 and plenty of envelopes here just say Bedford. Don't worry about it when you book. Your street name is all we need to send the right technician.
Solon touches the city on the east and Maple Heights on the west, so a call from any of them lands on the same route for us. If you manage units in more than one of these towns, one phone call can cover the whole list. Each unit still gets its own quote and its own invoice.
I rent in Bedford Heights. Can I call you myself?
You can. Check with your landlord first, though, because many leases say the owner arranges repairs. If they agree, we can send them the quote and wait for their OK.
Do you work with property managers in Bedford Heights?
Yes. Managers book us for single units or several at once. Tell us how you want the invoice and who signs off on prices.
My washer shows OE. Is it broken?
Not necessarily. On LG washers OE means it can't drain, and a clogged pump filter is a common cause. If clearing it doesn't help, the pump or the drain hose needs a look.
Which ZIP code is Bedford Heights?
Bedford Heights uses 44146, the same as Bedford. We cover both, so just give us your street.
How fast can you get to Bedford Heights?
Roughly 28 minutes from Parma when the roads are clear. If you reach us early on a weekday, we can often swing by later that day.
My apartment has a stacked laundry pair. Is that a problem?
Not for us. Some repairs mean lifting the dryer off the washer, so mention the stack when you book and we set aside the extra time.
Add the unit number and who owns the appliance. If there is an error code on the screen, type it in.
We will call you shortly to confirm a time for your repair.
