Appliance Repair in Olmsted Falls
Olmsted Falls and the township around it share one ZIP, and we cover both. From Parma it is roughly 26 minutes to Bagley and Columbia.
One discount per visit. Mention it when you book.
Say Olmsted Falls and most people think of Grand Pacific Junction down at Bagley and Columbia, with the Rocky River tumbling over the falls nearby. We think of it from the driver's seat. It's about eleven miles from Parma and somewhere around 26 minutes, depending on how the trains are running.
That's not a joke, by the way. Norfolk Southern tracks cut east to west through the middle of town and CSX clips the southeast corner, so a freight train can add a few minutes. We'll call when we're on the way so you're not guessing.
After that the routine is simple. He pokes around, tests whatever looks guilty, then quotes a single figure covering parts plus labor. Your call. Plenty of jobs end right there in your kitchen. When a special part has to ship in, he books the second visit before backing out of your driveway, so nothing falls through the cracks. Nobody likes chasing a repair company for a callback, and frankly we don't like being chased either.
One ZIP for the city and the township
- 44138Olmsted Falls and Olmsted Township
- Olmsted Township
- Berea
- North Olmsted
- Columbia Station
- Strongsville
Your envelope says Olmsted Falls whether you live in the city or not. Funny enough, most of 44138 by land area is really Olmsted Township, which hugs the city on three sides. Census maps put the township at about seven tenths of it. For us it's one service area. Book with whatever your mail says. If you're on a township road out toward Columbia Township the nearest cross street in your request helps the technician find you faster.
Berea is just east of you. Down south, our Strongsville repair service works off the same calendar.
An old village core and newer streets around it
Olmsted Falls was a village back in 1856 and merged with neighboring West View in the early seventies. That history shows in the houses. The old village goes back a long way, yet the Census median year built is 1981. So a big share of homes went up in the eighties and after, around a much older core.
The two halves need different things from us. With an older house the challenge might be a washer on a narrow cellar stair, or a range squeezed against an old gas line. Houses from the eighties onward often moved laundry to a closet on the main floor. And the appliances the builder put in back then are well past their first decade now.
Got the dryer tucked in a closet by the kitchen? Crack that louvered door while it's running. Starved for air, a dryer cooks itself and pops its thermal fuse. Then you're calling us over a cheap little part.

Washer, fridge and oven trouble we fix in 44138
Washer won't drain
Behind a little flap at the bottom of most front-loaders sits a pump filter. Towels on the floor first, trust us, a lot of water comes out. Filter clean and the drum's still a bathtub? Then we'd bet on the pump.
Fridge too warm
Slide it out and look at the coils, either underneath or on the back. Fuzzy gray coils can't shed heat. Vacuum them and give it a day. If the milk's still lukewarm after that, give us a ring.
Oven door locked
Ran self-clean? Many ovens keep the door locked until they've cooled way down, which can take a while. Stone cold and still stuck shut is another story. That points to the latch motor or the control board.
Dryer smells hot
Shut it off right away. Pull the lint screen, then go outside and see if the vent flap opens when it runs. Smell keeps coming back after that? Stop using it and call.
Want to dig deeper? There's our washer repair page, and a whole article about a fridge that never shuts off.
While you wait for the technician
- Stop the waterLeaky washer? The two taps behind it turn off clockwise. For a dishwasher, the valve's normally under the kitchen sink. Do that before grabbing the mop.
- Keep the door shutEvery peek lets cold out. A full freezer left shut can hold for a good while, so resist checking on it. If you're worried about meat or milk, a cooler with ice buys time.
- Kill the power if it smellsBurning smell or a spark? Unplug it, or flip the breaker if you can't reach the cord. Please don't run it again just to test.
Do you serve Olmsted Township as well as the city?
Yes. Both use ZIP 44138, and we cover the whole thing. The township actually makes up most of that ZIP by area.
How long does it take you to reach Olmsted Falls?
About 26 minutes from our base in Parma, roughly eleven miles. A train at a crossing can add a little, so we call ahead.
Can you fix appliances in the older homes near Grand Pacific Junction?
Yes. Narrow stairs and tight kitchens are fine. Warn us about steep steps or a low doorway, and the technician packs the right dolly.
My laundry closet is on the first floor and the dryer keeps shutting off. Why?
Often it overheats from poor airflow. Leave the closet door open and clean the vent. If it still shuts off, a thermostat or fuse may need replacing.
Our dishwasher in Olmsted Falls beeps and stops halfway. What gives?
Most dishwashers stop and beep when a sensor sees water where it shouldn't be, usually in the base pan under the tub. Tilting it or a slow leak from a door gasket can set that off. Write down any blinking code and keep it switched off until we look.
Do you offer same-day service in Olmsted Falls?
Often, if you reach us early. Our crew is out every day except Saturday, from seven in the morning until late evening. A Saturday request simply joins the Sunday list.
Do you repair appliances that came with my 1990s house?
Sure do. Builder-grade machines from back then are simple, and parts for them are mostly still around. If yours needs something that's been discontinued, or the fix costs more than the machine is worth, you'll hear that before we start.
I live in the township near the Vitamix campus. Do you come out there?
Yes. Vitamix has its headquarters in Olmsted Township right by the city line, and homes all around it are in 44138. Same service, same pricing approach, same warranty.
