Commercial range with gas burners and a griddle

Funny little village, this one. It's over three square miles of land, but under 600 people actually live here. Back in 2010 the census found roughly 280 homes in total. Much of the rest is industry, the kind of plants you see along Harvard Avenue on the way in. So a call from here might be a family's washer or a lunchroom fridge that thirty workers depend on.

We treat both the same way. Our technician tracks down the fault and names a price. Nothing gets replaced until you agree to it. Some parts have to be ordered in, and when that happens we give you a realistic idea of how long the wait will be, not the optimistic version.

ZIP 44125, not Cuyahoga Falls

We get calls meant for Cuyahoga Falls now and then (that's a separate city, way down in Summit County). This village sits in Cuyahoga County just below Cleveland, and its hall on East 71st Street carries 44125. Garfield Heights uses that ZIP too. Since labels often just say Cleveland, we go by your street name rather than the number.

Up north you hit Newburgh Heights. Cleveland's neighborhoods wrap around the rest, and Independence is a short hop south.

Homes from the forties

Half the houses in the village were built by 1948, according to census data. In homes that age the washer usually lives in the basement. The kitchen was laid out for a far smaller fridge than anyone buys now, and the electrical panel has outlasted a few owners. Each of those can make a perfectly healthy appliance look sick. A washer that trips the breaker every spin, for example, may simply be sharing a circuit with the freezer next to it.

So our tech spends the first few minutes looking at the house around the appliance. Is there power at the outlet? Is the drain moving? Do the water valves actually open? Plenty of times the machine still needs a part after all that, and you'll hear which one and what it costs.

Break rooms and workplace kitchens

A dead refrigerator in a break room is a real problem by lunchtime. We work on commercial cooling as well as household models, and we're glad to plan the visit around shift changes so nobody's lunch gets stranded.

For property managers and businesses we can bill the company directly. We'll want the company name for the invoice, plus somebody who can okay the price over the phone.

Work fridges age faster than the one at home. Think about a door opened a couple hundred times every shift; the gasket flattens out and the hinges sag, and pretty soon the compressor is running nonstop to keep up. A new gasket costs little by comparison.

Booking a repair for a business

Plants and offices have their own routines, and knowing them ahead of time saves everybody some waiting around.

  1. Where to reportWhich gate or door should our tech use? Mention any sign-in sheet or safety talk at the front desk too.
  2. What the unit isCommercial or household, brand and model. A picture of the data plate is perfect.
  3. Who approvesThe person who can say yes to the price. Without that, a quick repair can stall for a day waiting on a signature.
  4. When the line is quietIf a cooler can only be emptied between shifts, let us know the window. We'd rather come at six in the evening than have product sitting out at noon.

Our refrigerator repair page has the usual faults for fridges of any size. Cooking equipment is on the oven repair page.

Repair or replace, honestly

With so few houses in the village, a lot of the appliances here have been in place for a long while. Age by itself isn't a reason to give up on one. A twenty-year-old range with a bad igniter is still a good range once the igniter is new, and a basement freezer that only needs a thermostat has years left in it.

A repair usually pays

Fan motors and thermostats, door gaskets on a cooler, a weak oven igniter. Next to the price of a new unit these are cheap, and most ride along on the van.

Time to replace

A refrigerant leak in an aging fridge, or a cracked washer tub. If our quote creeps up near half of a replacement's price, you'll hear that from us plainly.

Veterans and seniors take $30 off the bill. New customers get $20 off, though discounts don't stack. Whatever we fix is under a 90-day warranty.

Cuyahoga Heights questions

Including the most common one, about the name.

(216) 352-3935

Is Cuyahoga Heights the same as Cuyahoga Falls?

No. Cuyahoga Heights is a small village in Cuyahoga County, south of Cleveland. That other one, Cuyahoga Falls, is its own city down in Summit County. We drive to both, they're just very different trips.

What is the drive like from Parma?

About 21 minutes from Parma without traffic, roughly ten miles. An early weekday call often gets a same-day visit.

Do you repair appliances for businesses in the village?

Yes, from the break room fridge to the kitchen ovens. We can work around your shifts and send the invoice to the company.

Our mail reads Cleveland, OH 44125. Do you come here?

Yes. 44125 covers Cuyahoga Heights and some neighboring areas, and mail often says Cleveland. Your street name settles it.

What should I check before calling?

Make sure the outlet has power and the breaker hasn't tripped. In older houses that alone explains a surprising number of dead appliances.

Can you look at a home appliance and a work fridge on the same trip?

If they're both in the village and the timing works, yes. Mention both when you call so we can plan the parts and the time.

Do you give a price before starting?

Always. You hear what's wrong and what the fix costs, and the repair only goes ahead once you agree. Veterans and seniors save $30, or $20 off for a first visit.
